ELKHORN RIDGE VINEYARDS

Located in the heart of Oregon’s prime winegrowing region, the Willamette Valley, the Elkhorn Ridge vineyards possess a true dedication to growing the finest Pinot Noir grapes and producing the very best Pinot Noir wines. The first 10 acres of Pinot Noir were planted in 2000, utilizing several different rootstocks and various Pommard and Dijon clones. The vineyard was planted using very tight spacing, giving a vine count of 2,074 plants per acre. An additional 11 acres were planted in 2011 using the same techniques, rootstocks, and clonal mix. This amounts to a total of 21 acres out of the 57 that are plantable. This space will eventually allow the production of approximately 2,300 cases of estate-bottled Pinot Noir. Additionally, the grapes are sold to four quality Oregon wineries which use them in the production of their own Pinot Noir blends.

The first estate-bottled Pinot Noir was released in 2003, and it sold out within two months.
